Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. CityIntel also uses similar browser storage technologies, such as local storage, which work in a similar way but are not always classed as “cookies” — we treat them the same way for the purposes of this policy.
CityIntel is a platform that you log in to use. We use cookies and local storage primarily to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as your default map region or dashboard layout), and keep the platform secure. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites, and we do not sell any information collected via cookies.
Used to keep you logged in, maintain your session, and protect the security of your account. The platform cannot function without these, and they do not require consent under UK law.
Remember choices you make while using the platform — for example, your default map focus region, pinned radius settings on maps, or briefing preferences — so you don’t need to set them again each visit. These are stored using your browser’s local storage and stay on your device.
CityIntel does not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated and, where required, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential analytics cookies.
Some pages embed interactive maps using OpenStreetMap and CARTO map tiles. Loading these maps may involve requests to those providers’ servers, which could set their own cookies in accordance with their respective policies. Payment processing for subscriptions is handled by Stripe, which may set its own cookies during checkout in accordance with the Stripe Cookies Policy.
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings, including blocking or deleting them. Because CityIntel relies on strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in, blocking these will prevent the platform from working correctly. For guidance on managing cookies in your browser, visit aboutcookies.org.
